SOUTH DAKOTA: Community potluck in Perkins County!
Come on down to the Kithship Collective/Sheep Shed Cafe in Bison, SD for a community potluck using produce from our community garden and home gardens, followed by performance by Perkins County Youth and some karaoke (note: most everybody in Bison knows how to find the Kithship Collective, but if you’re coming from out of town and want directions, email garrett@barnraisersproject.org and I’ll connect you with Eliza, our organizer.
KANSAS: A special convening for the Kansas Hive
The Kansas HIVE is a cohort of community organizers in small towns across the entire state of Kansas. On September 14th, Hive will gather in Inman, Kansas, to celebrate the Interdependence Relay by exploring how stronger communities are built through connection, collaboration, and shared purpose. Through meaningful conversation, storytelling, and a symbolic contribution to the traveling relay box, participants will reflect on the ways we depend on one another and the unique role each person plays in helping communities thrive. Together, we'll celebrate the idea that no one carries the journey alone.

MONTANA: Migration is beautiful potluck and celebration in Helena

NEBRASKA: DEBORA BASLER WISNESKI MEMORIAL COMMUNITY PLAY EVENT
We are deeply honored to have the Nebraska host event for the Relay also be a memorial play day celebrating the life and work of Dr. Debora Basler Wiskenski, a beloved leader in the Omaha early childhood education community and the founder of PLACE (the University of Nebraska Omaha Center for Playful Learning and Community Engagement). COLORADO: Denver Omelets Breakfast Club
The Denver Omelets are a breakfast group that formed in response to the closure of several beloved Denver diners. Join them… for breakfast, of course, and also community bonding (go here for more info, sign up and location).
Tucson POWER Dinner
POWER (Powerful, Outstanding Women Engaged in Resilience) is a vibrant network of women, femme trans, non-binary Tucsconians, active in Southern Arizona since 2013 (and in Washington D.C. before that). While they connect and support each other in a number of ways, their core ritual is a monthly dinner, which in July will also double as Arizona’s Relay Event. NEW MEXICO: Burrito Brigade Mutual Aid Community Cook
The Burrito Brigade is a growing mutual aid network in Santa Fe, NM. Every week, we get together to cook and distribute free burritos, hot drinks, and essential supplies to our unhoused and food-insecure neighbors. UTAH: SALT LAKE CITY TRANS MOVIE CLUB
Trans movie night is a regular gathering of trans friends in the Salt Lake area who come together to watch and discuss movies! If this sounds like a match for you, they are open to newcomers coming to this special relay-themed movie afternoon. NEVADA: A community gathering hosted by Las Vegas Summerlin Bonfire
Come to the community room at Sahara West Library for an honest community discussion about what the 250th anniversary of the country means to you if you have complicated feelings about U.S. history/current governmental policy. It’ll be hosted by Las Vegas Summerlin Bonfire, a new women’s political action group, and are excited to join the relay as they build and grow a supportive activist community in the Las Vegas Valley. HAWAII: Community party at Yellow House Kalāheo
Hey Kauai neighbors— the relay is coming to the island, to share great food and great times together at the Yellow House, Kalāheo.
CALIFORNIA: Fog City Community Fitness in San Francisco
This is going to be a blast! Everybody’s welcome as the relay lands at Fog City Fitness at the intersection of the Mission/Bernal/Noe Valley neighborhoods.
