The Declarations of Interdependence Relay is a year-long, continent-spanning experiment in community.

Fifty gatherings, in fifty different states, followed by a final celebration. Each gathering connected by a set of commitments to each other. Oh, and also a big wooden box.

That box? It’ll start out empty, but eventually end up filled with gifts and artifacts from each gathering. Not unlike this website, actually, because this will be where we will share stories and pictures from each of our community events.

Some of the gatherings will be tiny. others massive. All will be hosted by people who care— both about each other and creating a country where everybody belongs. All the while, we’ll support our hosts— through coaching, community, and a modest stipend (anything to help pay for snacks, right?).

How long will it take? Probably a year, but we’re going to find out together. That’s the whole idea here. None of us have done anything exactly like this before, but what a gift to not have to do it alone.
